Christ-Solid Families: Kids Who Obey, Fathers Who Disciple (Ephesians 6:1–4)

Topic: Family, Maturity, Unity

Book: Ephesians

Being a kid is hard.
Being a parent is harder.

And most families—if we’re honest—are just trying to survive it.
But survival isn’t the goal.

In this message from (Ephesians 6:1–4), we continue our series “Building the Church” with a focus on Christ-solid families—homes that honor God and prepare children to lead themselves spiritually.

Paul gives us two features of Christ-solid families:

Children obey their parents “in the Lord” (Eph. 6:1–3)
Obedience isn’t just about rules—it’s discipleship. It’s worship. It’s learning to honor God through honoring the authorities He’s placed over you.

Fathers disciple their children “in the Lord” (Eph. 6:4)
Not harsh control. Not hands-off parenting. But loving, patient, intentional discipleship—setting boundaries, forming hearts, and raising children in the training and instruction of the Lord without crushing their spirit.

This message is for:

Parents trying to lead with wisdom and patience

Kids and teens navigating authority and attitude

Families who want their home built on Christ, not culture

Anyone who knows the pressure of raising children in a broken world
