Readied For More

Day 1: Release Yourself from Your Past

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 43:18
“Do not remember the past events; pay no attention to things of old.”

Commentary:
God invites us to let go of the past—not to forget completely, but to stop allowing it to shape our present and future. The Hebrew term for “remember” here implies keeping something so vivid in your mind that it determines your actions and mindset. Many of us live under the weight of our past mistakes and failures, letting them define us even though God has forgiven us.

Through Jesus, the old has passed away, and the new has come. You are no longer enslaved to shame or guilt. God calls you to step into your identity as His child, leaving behind the burdens that hinder your growth. Letting go isn’t about denial but about trusting God with your story and His redemptive work in your life.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What past events or failures have you struggled to release?

  2. How has God’s forgiveness changed the way you see yourself?

  3. What practical steps can you take to leave past guilt or shame behind?

  4. How does recognizing yourself as a new creation in Christ empower you?

Thought of the Day:
Your past does not define you. In Christ, you are made new.

Song: “Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)” by Chris Tomlin

Prayer Focus:
Pray for the courage to release yourself from past mistakes and trust in God’s forgiveness.

Day 2: Reach for Your Next in God

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 43:19a
“Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming.”

Commentary:
God declares He is doing something new in your life, urging you to live with anticipation and faith. This promise reminds us that our current struggles do not define our future. God’s new work surpasses anything we’ve experienced before, bringing hope and restoration. Like the Israelites in exile, we may feel stuck, but God’s plans offer freedom and renewal.

As you reflect on what lies ahead, remember how God has faithfully worked in your past. Trust that the same God who delivered you before is working on your behalf again. Your next chapter is not just about you; it’s about God’s glory revealed through your life.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What “new thing” is God calling you to embrace?

  2. How can you prepare yourself spiritually for what God has planned?

  3. How has God’s faithfulness in the past strengthened your faith?

  4. What steps can you take to step forward in faith?

Thought of the Day:
God’s new work in your life is already unfolding—step into it with faith.

Song: “Do It Again” by Michael W. Smith

Prayer Focus:
Ask God to reveal His plans for your future and prepare your heart to embrace them.

Day 3: Rely Only on God

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 43:19b
“Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.”

Commentary:
God promises to provide, even in the most barren and impossible places. His assurance to make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert reminds us that He is our ultimate source of strength, provision, and deliverance. Yet, relying on God requires surrendering our backup plans and fully trusting His timing and methods.

We often try to take control when we feel uncertain, but this undermines our faith in God’s ability to fulfill His promises. God’s plans are always better than ours, and He is faithful to provide what we need to accomplish His purpose in our lives.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Are there areas in your life where you struggle to trust God’s provision?

  2. What backup plans have you created instead of fully relying on God?

  3. How can you surrender control to God and trust His timing?

  4. How does God’s faithfulness in Scripture inspire your reliance on Him?

Thought of the Day:
God’s promises are unshakable. Trust Him to provide in every season.

Song: “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” by CeCe Winans

Prayer Focus:
Pray for complete reliance on God as your provider and sustainer.

Day 4: Remember Who You Are in Christ

Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!”

Commentary:
Your identity in Christ is the foundation of your new life. The old version of you—marked by sin, guilt, and failure—has been replaced by the new creation God is forming through His grace. This transformation empowers you to live with hope, even in difficult circumstances.

Remembering who you are in Christ gives you the strength to forgive yourself, rise after failure, and walk confidently in God’s purpose for your life. Your fresh start is rooted in Jesus’ finished work, not in your own efforts. Embrace this truth and let it guide every step you take.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How does knowing you are a new creation in Christ change your perspective?

  2. What old habits or mindsets do you need to leave behind?

  3. How can you live more boldly in your identity as a child of God?

  4. What practical ways can you remind yourself daily of your identity in Christ?

Thought of the Day:
Your identity in Christ empowers you to live with purpose and hope.

Song: “In Christ Alone” by Keith and Kristyn Getty

Prayer Focus:
Thank God for making you a new creation and pray for the strength to live out your identity in Him.

Day 5: Step Boldly into God’s Plan

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 43:18-19 & 2 Corinthians 5:17
“Do not remember the past events; pay no attention to things of old. Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming.”

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!”

Commentary:
God’s call is clear: release the past, embrace the new, rely on Him, and walk in your identity as His child. These steps prepare you to live out His greater purpose. As you align yourself with God’s plan, you’ll experience His power, provision, and peace in ways you never imagined.

Life’s challenges may persist, but in Christ, you are equipped to navigate them with faith and confidence. Your journey of transformation is not about perfection but perseverance, as God works in and through you to accomplish His will.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How will you apply these truths to your life in 2025 and beyond?

  2. What steps can you take to align your actions with God’s purpose?

  3. How can you stay grounded in faith during difficult times?

  4. Who can you encourage with the hope and renewal you’ve experienced in Christ?

Thought of the Day:
Step boldly into the future, knowing God has prepared the way.

Song: “Way Maker” by Sinach

Prayer Focus:
Pray for boldness to walk in God’s plan and faith to trust His guidance.
