Use this Prayer Guide to pray for your church, your family, for non-believers, your marriage, and for yourself throughout the coming year.

PRAY FOR YOUR CHURCH

1. Pray that we preach the WORD of God without apology. “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.” 2 Timothy 4:2

2. Pray that we WORSHIP God in spirit and truth. “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24

3. Pray that we devote ourselves to prayer. “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.” Colossians 4:2

4. Pray that we BOLDLY SHARE Jesus as the only hope for our salvation. “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

PRAY FOR YOUR FAMILY

1. Pray that they love and trust the Lord. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

2. Pray that, if straying, they return to the Lord.“I am the LORD; I have called you in righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep you.” Isaiah 42:6

3. Pray that they submit to and serve the Lord. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double minded.” James 4:7-8

4. Pray that they grow in the Lord. The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom. And the favor of God was upon him.”  Luke 2:40

PRAY FOR NONBELIEVERS

1. Pray that they turn from their sin and accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

2. Pray that they are not blinded from the truth. “In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:4

3. Pray that God sends people to share the Gospel boldly with them. “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

4. Pray that the Holy Spirit convicts them of their sin. “When He comes, He will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.” John 16:8

PRAY FOR YOUR MARRIAGE

1. Pray for your spouse to grow in faith and bear fruit in his/her walk with Christ. “Walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.” Colossians 1:10

2. Pray for your spouse to have spiritual victory. “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its fill effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-4

3. Pray for Godly principles and practices to characterize your communication. “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” Ephesians 4:29

4. Pray that your relationship with your spouse would be ever-deepening in respect and love. “Let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.” Ephesians 5:33

PRAY FOR YOURSELF

1. Pray that you will be in right relationship with God. “Let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe.”  Hebrews 12:28

2. Pray that God will reveal your willful, habitual sins in action or attitude. “Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”  Psalm 139:23-24

3. Pray that you will receive and apply the Bible as God’s direction for your life. “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

4. Pray for God’s grace and mercy as you confess and turn from your sin. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  1 John 1:9
